MAX

Every year our Nazarene district has an event called Momentum in March.  Teens go and can compete in just about any talent you can think of.  Speech, bowling, table tennis, flag football, volleyball,  basketball, sing a song or an instrument, do it as a group for an ensemble, make a video, creative writing and more.  Then from that event, that is district wide, the kids are chosen to participate in MAX which is a regional event.  It is three days and a lot of fun.  The emphasis is performing your best and having Christlike attitudes.  Then at the end on saturday afternoon there is an awards celebration, MVPs from each sport are chosen as well as all tournament teams. 

 Everyone sat in the hall while April warmed up for her solo.  It was great that everyone wanted to support her. 

 This was the schedule.  Teens played all morning, took an hour chapel break and then played all afternoon.

 I had the privilege of coaching our Sr. High Women's basketball team.  It was so much fun and I hope I get to do that again. We had three girls from KC and 2 from Nebraska on the team.  The first game didn't go so well but the second game they played great!  That put us in the championship game on saturday morning.  We lost but it was a great experience.  3 girls were freshmen and 2 were sophomores.  The other teams were all juniors and seniors so that looks well for us for years to come.

 Jake showed Caleb his PSP and Caleb actually did pretty well with it.  Jake became a new buddy for him too. 

 We were all sitting in the gym.  The championship volleyball game was being played before the awards.  We played soccer and some teens from KC played on our team.  They all got along great and at the awards they came and sat with us. 

 One tuckered out group.  You can't see it but the last two rows have people in them, they are just all asleep and so you can't see them.  It was very quiet on the way home.
