I found a book at Lifeway that had some really great fundraising ideas for youth groups and one of them was a 1950s carhop. I prayed about it and tossed the idea around to a few other people and we made a go of it and it was so much fun! We had a record number of people participate and not all of them were from church either. Some just saw the info on the church sign and stopped by. It was awesome!

Grandma and Grandpa took the boys for the evening for us so we could focus on the food and teens. Their first stop was at the carhop to enjoy some good food and then they headed off to the movie theater and saw The Lion King in 3D. Look! Even Elvis made it out!
Towards the end of the night, all of our carhops hanging with Elvis. We had a stereo outside and had 50s music playing. We also had a picnic area which quickly became 'the spot'. It was so much fun. If you live near by and missed out, don't worry we will be doing this again!
