Good News

This morning we headed to KC early and went to Noah's check up at Children's Mercy. I was going to attempt to do this on my own with all 3 boys but thankfully at almost the last minute Heath decided to come too. Jonathan has the day of from school, just kind of worked out that way. We scheduled this appointment back in March. And back in March Noah didn't do so good. Whenever he has to get on a hospital bed he wigs out and screams, cries, sometimes kicks. An ultrasound doesn't hurt but convincing him of that is a task. So thats why I was nervous about going alone. What if he wigged out, how would I keep Caleb calm. Jonathan's only 7 and we are trying to keep him there. Sometimes its easy asking him to help out with Caleb and with some things we do. I just didn't want Caleb to become his responsibility....he's 7.

So anyways. We get there, Noah jumped up right on the bed. No problems at all. In fact he laughed most of the time because the jelly tickled. We were in and out. Caleb cried some until he realized they wanted to see Noah and not him. We then went to another floor and saw Noah's Dr., Dr. Murphy and he said his kidney looks great...really great. His bladder was a little large but as long as keep on having him go every couple of hours he should be okay. And as long he doesn't get constipated and steers clear from infections he is well on his way to total recovery. We don't have to go back for 2 YEARS!!!!!!!!!!! And he can play contact sports!!! He has to get a routing check up a little more often with our regular physician so he can get his blood pressure and urine test but that is nothing....at least it seems like nothing compared to what he's been through...what we've been through, over the past 4 years.

It felt so great to walk out of there knowing the next time we go, he'll be almost 7, Jonathan will be 9 and Caleb will be 3 1/2. Weird huh?

Now all we have to do is get Noah and Caleb cleared with the ENT for their ears. 08 was very much a medically challenging year for us, and so far 09 has been a recovery year and I pray '10 is just plain healthy!
