Noah

Today was the day...we left early this morning and took Noah back to Children's Mercy for some more tests. He had a test...VCUG...its where they kind of numb his pee wee and then put a catheter in him, shoot some dye up, pull it out and then we wait for him to potty...all while under this big xray machine thing so they can take constant pictures and see where the dye goes. This was his 3rd time to get this test done. It didn't really come back to him what was going on until he got up on the table and he needed to lie down for pre cath pics. He did well though. It seemed like we were in there for a very long time but Heath said he was surprised at how fast it went. He was expecting to wait for a while. We had Caleb with us so he had to wait outside...however Heath gets faint during this test so he isn't allowed to go in anymore! :) Its getting a little easier to take...as a mom. The first time I cried...a lot. it was hard not to when he's screaming your name and all I could do was hold his hands and kiss him. The 2nd time, my eyes watered and a few tears fell but I held myself together for the most part. This time I just didn't look at what they were doing and focused solely on his face and it helped me help him. Plus we had a great assistant this time that did an awesome job at keeping Noah focused on toys so he was thinking about what the Dr. was doing. And Noah did great too. Yes he cried but he went potty almost immediately after they pulled it out. He's realized they will let him go home if he goes. And usually after this pottying at home is a difficult task. He'll hold it until he gets sick rather because the first few times sting. THANKFULLY he is doing really well tonight. He's gone a few times already!

So the tests looked great. No reflux! YAY! This means no more meds for him...the first time since he's been born that he doesn't have to take a daily med. However we do have to go back in October for them to look at the kidney again. I kind of wonder if we will have to continue to do this. The left kidney is enlarged because of the extra activity it had for 4 years and the Dr said it will probably always be a little larger he just wants to make sure it doesn't shut down because of the activity. But that is okay. That is just an ultrasound. Compared to what we've been through, that is a piece of cake.

Thank you to everyone who said prayers for him. Now if we can all get over this cold/flu stuff!
