Yesterday we spent the day in Wichita for my niece's 4th birthday and on the way home we stopped at a gas station to fill up. And we couldn't have timed it better. Santa was at the next pump all dressed up and filling up his Mazda6. The boys' eyes when they saw him...they just couldn't believe SANTA was there too. My dad got out and must have asked him to come over and say something. He waved threw the window and then my dad opened up the van door and said, Ho Ho Ho, Merry Christmas. They were speechless! The first time in their lives! He asked how they have been, if they've been good boys and what they wanted for Christmas! It was so cute. He had the white gloves on, the little circle glasses with gold trim and everything. The boys answered him and said Merry Christmas back and he walked away and there they sat, in such amazement that Santa came over to them. Their little eyes were so big and they just didn't even know what to say. Then they got all excited and asked where the reindeer were, of course they were resting! They only fly on Christmas Eve. Jonathan said I bet Santa has his own plane to use to get back to the north pole! Noah agreed. Then Jonathan said, I know a lot of the Santa's we see are just his helpers but I'm pretty sure that was really him! Again Noah agreed. They sat in their car seats for about another 10 minutes still speechless. It was so cute. Then they took a nap. First a birthday party and cousins to play with all day and then to see Santa! They were exhausted! So today after church Noah got a piece of paper out and wrote Santa a letter. I'm not sure what it says, he can only write his own name. The rest is just squiggly lines but either way we "pretend" mailing it to him.
We couldn't have timed seeing Santa any better. What a memory for them to have!
That is so cute! What a fun memory!!!
