Trip

For our 10th anniversary we spent the day with some of the teens from our youth group. We took them to Tulsa, OK for an Acquire the Fire event. We left one day early since it was Spring Break to do something fun. We got to the hotel and relaxed for a bit then hit the pool! It was so nice to just relax and have some fun. They we took everyone to Dave n Busters. We had never been before. We have heard people talk about the one in KC but we have never gone. The food was so good! Everyone one of us really liked our food. For a party of 9 that is pretty good! Then we hit the games part of it and that was a lot of fun too. There were so many fun looking games it was hard to decide where to start playing first. At the end of the night we all got some really fun toys. The teens even spent some of their tickets on Heath and I for our anniversary. Heath got a cow (there is an inside story to that) and I got a Princess pillow. It was really sweet of them to think of that. On Friday they all slept in and then we hit the pool for most of the afternoon. We had went to Walgreens and got an inflatable bball goal for the pool. It was a lot of fun goofing around. A good workout too!!! Then we went to the infamous Whataburger! All of the guys wanted to try there because it is mentioned on the Big 12 network all of the time. To me, it was just another burger place. To the guys, it was piece of heaven!! LOL Then we made our way to Oral Roberts University where the conference was held. They have the biggest praying hands, I think in the world. It was absolutely huge! We goofed around again for some pictures and then got in line. We were reserved a section but not a seat. Surprisingly the line wasn't all that bad. The conference that night was awesome. The speaker talked about restoring old cars and how Jesus can restore your life. I went to a Youth Pastor's break out session and everyone else had worship. They all really enjoyed it. Then...Sanctus Real put on a concert! That was really awesome! The next day didn't really go as according to plan. One of our sponsors had some medical trouble. And even though it was a really long day it brought all of us there closer together in a way that I don't think the conference would've been able to. Some of the kids are still dealing with the day but all in all it was a good trip. I bought a shirt that says Youth Pastor on the front. On the back it says, the Top Reasons why my kids think I'm Awesome!! They filled it out and this is whaty they came up with. -because your door is always open -because you can rock Urkel pants -You love Jesus! -You love us! -you spoil us -you're hilarious -you get us involved -you're the prank master -your snoring is our lullaby -fun to be with -We love you!
