I'm only 28 and I already believe the saying, life goes faster the older you get, kinda like toilet paper. Sometimes days will just fly by and then weeks are gone. And here we are with Spring Break next week. Which means April is around the corner, Jonathan will turn 8 and Caleb will turn 2!

Last weekend we took our youth group to Momentum in KC. For those of you not aware of this, its a day of talents. You can sing, perform a skit, play an instrument, write a speech, etc or play a game like bball, dodgeball, soccer, flag football and volleyball. There is a lot more than what I'm listing but you get the idea. Well we took a volleyball team. We learned a lot about who we are as a group I think. We didn't win, but we did make it to MAX in April so we are pretty excited about that. MAX is people from all over our region, the dakota's, MN and on down the map. Thankfully its held in KC each year so we don't have all that far to go. We also had one of our girl's make it to MAX in the 3 pt contest. She just did it for fun and made it! At the end of the day they had an awards ceremony and announced who would be going on to MAX. They had a group from Blue Springs do their skit. I wasn't really sure what to expect and I won't go into great detail about it, its one of those you had to be there. But let me tell you, in about 2 or so minutes. We had church. At least around our table there wasn't a dry eye to be found. It was amazing. It left you speechless and at the same time spoke to your very core. Its like the message hit you between the eyes and there wasn't even any talking. They acted to a song. Our Youth Group is going to try and get the info on that skit, we want to do it for our church. It was that amazing. Then immediately following that they gave out a memorial award. There was a boy, Josh, who used to come to momentum every year. He had a servants heart, always looking out for others. And he was athletic. Very athletic. And if I remember right he could sing. Several years ago, right after momentum, before MAX came around he was in a horrible drowning accident. So every year in his memory/honor they give out an award to the teen who was the most Christlike. And this year, our very own Taylor Wyre won! At this point we cried. Josh's mother was there and Taylor was able to meet her and hug her. It was so emotional and awesome. The best part about Taylor winning is she didn't think she did anything that great. To her it was 2nd nature. She's so humble and inspiring. Our first year to momentum and she received the biggest award. It was big. It still brings tears to my eyes.

Most days Heath and I feel so inadequate to be leading our Youth but we are also so very thankful to a part of this journey. Every week we are reminded of God's amazing Grace. Why he chose us to be the leaders at this moment in time, we might not ever know but we are so blessed and thankful that he did chose us.
