Bass Pro does a great job of creating a winter wonderland. This is Caleb standing in front of one of the trains they had set up. They have a lot of activities for kids to do and play with while they wait for their turn to see Santa. They can also shoot ducks, drive a car on a race track, drive a huge truck on rugged terrain and several other things.

Here are the Franke boys talking to Santa. Jonathan knows he is not real but really thinks the Elf on the Shelf tells Santa if he is behaving. And yes we do both things with our boys. They know that the real reason for Christmas is celebrating Jesus birthday. We bake a cake or pie or something alone those lines. The boys get toys and clothes they no longer need or play with and we donate them so other kids can play with them. We also do Advent at home and read the story from Luke on the birth of our Savior. So our boys know why we really celebrate, these others are just for fun. They help with imagination and creativity.
Here I am with Caleb on the carousel they have inside. You have to sign a waiver which makes me chuckle because this is probably the slowest carousel I have ever been on!
These two are like two peas in a pod.
Grandma was able to get them all looking in relatively the same direction for a quick photo before we went and ate supper all together. We go to Bass Pro with my parents and brother every year and it is a fun tradition the kids all look forward too. And Grandpa likes it too since its his favorite store.
One night we had the teens over at our house. We watched Elf and ate some goodies. This is a few of them that could make it.
And Noahs class...He has such a great class and teacher. This group had the same teacher last year and they got to have fun as she planned her wedding. After school was out she was married and this past fall they found out she is now expecting her first child. Just before break they were to dress in blue if they thought it was a boy and pink if they thought it was a girl.
Noah wore a pink shirt. And for the big reveal she brought cupcakes and the kids had to bite into the cupcake to find out. They were pink inside!
And Max with an early Christmas present. he loves this bed. You could probably fit 2 or 3 Yorkshire Terriers on it! :) But anything smaller and he won't lay on it.

One sunday afternoon Caleb spent some money and bought a cardboard castle. It is about 3 or 4 feet on each side and probably 4 feet tall. You put it together and then color it. It has 2 windows and 2 draw bridge doors so you can go in and out. Caleb asked Heath to color and after about 20-30 minutes they both fell backwards because coloring is hard work! Or so Caleb says.
